Death Valley 2011

The plan was to leave town at 6:45, but Marc and Crystal were up very late on Friday night preparing, and they forgot to set their alarm. Peter and Tanis drove to Marc’s house, and the were ready to depart by about 7:40AM. A stop at Starbucks in Mackenzie Towne, and we were on the road. Taking 2 South, then over the porcupine hills to 22 South, then the 3 to Fernie, and the 93 south to the border. No problems crossing the border. A sandwich at the border, and we continued south on 93 through Montana. We dialed in a campground called Bitteroot Elk, Garmin said was a campground, but it took us to someone’s yard. We ended up staying at an RV stop along the Bitteroot river, warmed up some leftover chilli and made some fresh Naan before our first night in Hamilton, Montana.
